I got up early this morning to get some pressing matters off of my desk and got carried away with a Billy Idol tune that I haven’t thought of in years. The song, “Dancing with Myself,” was never really a favorite, but it seemed to sum up how I’ve been feeling lately.

Inside: Your dreams are calling
For Barking Out Loud
I’ve been working on some Barking Beagle Press ideas and have been feeling overwhelmed at everything that needs to be done to make my main idea a viable venture. I have to remind myself that it’s me and only me pushing myself to do this. Oh yeah, and then there’s the ghost of a deceased beagle named Reggie (my conscience) and the fact that I don’t give up when I say I’m gonna do something. For barking out loud, why do I put so much pressure on myself? And why does it have to be just me? Or, better yet: does it have to be just me?
The D Word
I read a number of blogs that talk about entrepreneurship and most, if not all, talk about getting help when you need it. Time is of the essence so, if finance isn’t your forté, don’t waste your time trying to learn all of the advanced Excel formulas—delegate! Go get QuickBooks or hire a consultant for an hour or two to walk you through the basics. It’ll give you time to focus on what you enjoy or, better yet, time to focus on what else to delegate.
The New DIY
For someone like me, it’s hard to admit that I can’t do it all. However, I’m starting to realize that delegating is OK; it’s the new DIY and I could really use an extreme biz makeover right about now.
