About

Who I Am
I like to think that I’m a renaissance woman: dreamer, chef, decorator, artist, student, and shameless reality show addict (only the good ones though).  I’m also a wife, Step-Mom, Puppy Mama, and Intro Friend (I introduce people who usually become friends). Oh, and I like to wear silly hats.

Reinvention
I’ve reinvented myself (and this blog) probably more times than Madonna and I’m OK with that. I like to mix it up and, ever since Kindergarten, have loved to show & tell.

    Kristina,
I was delighted to find your blog! I am 66 and finding or reinventing myself too. Unlike you, I like my name, MaryAnn, my problem was that after years of being called “hon, mommy, mom, Rick’s wife, Chip’s mom”, etc. I hardly recognized my own name. My identity was all wrapped up in my family.

My sons are grown with families of their own and my husband has passed away, so here I am trying to figure out who I am. How do I define myself now? I had a revelation: I am not a box or a can, I don’t need a label. I am tired of labels. The answer to who I am now lies in whatever I choose to do with my future.

I made a list of things I want to do, a “bucket list” if you will and I intend to do everything on the list, as MaryAnn! Not mom or nana.

Have fun redefining yourself and your goals.

Hi MaryAnn, thanks for finding my blog and leaving comments! I’ve been writing for a little over a year now and have uncovered a lot about myself—stuff I’d long forgotten. I’ve realized that it’s not finding myself anymore, it’s about rediscovery. Good luck on your journey and remember: be sure to have some fun along the way!

  2. Nice blog Kristina! You are a great and passionate artist!

Wish you good luck and all the best!

    Mary

  3. I have been trying to find bloggers closer to my age and I am so glad you were freshly pressed. Thank you!! I kept wondering…are all bloggers in their twenties?? or are they all mummy bloggers?? is there no one else like me? Your blog i really refreshing, and I hope to read through it slowly, savouring each post :)

  4. Great Blog! So colorful and full of life..

  5. I love the title of your blog, because it hit’s so close to home. I too hated the name Kristine, and only went by Kris until I was 44 (I’m 50 now). I hated it, because like you, I only heard it when I was being yelled at. I started to use the name Kristine (or Kristina), when I began to travel in Mexico and everyone insisted on calling me Kristina, whether I liked it or not. I have a wordpress blog: searchingforfernando.wordpress.com you might enjoy. It’s about how I decided to go with the unexpected, and took the road less traveled, in Mexico. It almost got me killed, but it left me with one heck of a story.

  6. great!

  7. Hello Kristina,

Thanks so much for stopping by my place today and leaving the comment you did along with the video. It was exactly what I needed to refocus in a forward direction instead of throwing backward glances at decisions I made too long ago to change.

I wanted to ask if you mind if I mention and link to you later this week possibly in a blog post I’m germinating right now.

    Warm regards,

    Elizabeth

      Hi Elizabeth,

      Hi Elizabeth,

Whew! I realized after I commented that the youtube link became an embedded video and was hoping it was ok. I’m glad to see that you liked it. It’s an old video, but one that I just discovered last week. It so resonated with me and I’m happy to see that it did with you as well.

Please feel free to link to me or just stop on by occasionally! I love making new online friends and being a part of this wonderful community.

      ~Kristina
